[Lecture Report] “The Legislative Process and Future Prospects of the Basic Act on Dementia to Promote an Inclusive Society” (The 31st Annual Conference of the Japanese Association for Research in Family Nursing, September 15, 2024; Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture)

Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI) Senior Manager Mr. Shunichiro Kurita participated in the 31st Annual Conference of the Japanese Association for Research in Family Nursing (JARNF), where he gave a presentation titled, “The Legislative Process and Future Prospects of the Basic Act on Dementia to Promote an Inclusive Society.” The presentation was given as part of Symposium 2, titled “Disaster Committee Collaboration Project on Disaster Preparedness: Community Support for Senior Citizens Living with Dementia and Their Families.”

During the lecture, Mr. Kurita gave an overview of the Basic Act on Dementia and the results of an analysis of its legislative process. He also provided an overview of HGPI policy recommendations titled, “Three Necessary Perspectives for Formulating the Basic Plan for the Promotion of Policies on Dementia” from the viewpoints of disaster response and dementia.
